THE START DATE OF RAMADAN AND A RAMADAN CALENDAR TO PRINT FOR FREE

I've just finished creating a page for the date of the Ramadan 2008 in french, because last year I created one and it had a huge success, so I'd like to repeat it this year if I can... or if Google God willing... :-)

But I thought also, why not try it in english? It will be more difficult since there are so many competitors, if I can call them that, but why not try it...
Note that in french I targeted two main searches related to the month of Ramadan : Date of Ramadan and Free Ramadan Calendar to print for free. Those are simple things but have proven popular on a short time span in September last year.

In 2008 Ramadan begins almost 2 weeks earlier, and it's just in a month or so.. better hurry up ! :-)

Ramadan is always on the same day of the Islamic calendar but the date on the Gregorian calendar varies from year to year. That's because one is based on the moon and the other on the sun, this difference means Ramadan always start about 11 days earlier every year in the Gregorian calendar. And finally the date of Ramadan also vary a day from country to country depending on whether the moon has been sighted or not. That is a detail perhaps, but an important one since that's the reason why every year millions of muslims are looking on the internet to know when Ramadan starts ! I don't know many people looking up on Google to know the date of Christmas.. :-)

So.. Ramadan 2008 is August 31– September 29 (American Continents) and September 1– September 29 for the rest of the world.

Ramadan begins on August 31, 2008 and ends on September 29, 2008 for North, Central and South America. In Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia, and Australia Ramadan starts on September 1.

Please note that the Night of Destiny (or Night of Power) will be on September 25, 2008 for the Americas and it will be one day later (September 26, 2008) for the rest of the world, nice.

The new moon times for beginning and ending of Ramadan are as follow:

Start - 7:58 p.m. on August 30, 2008 (UT/GMT)
End - 8:12 a.m. on September 29, 2008 (UT/GMT)

Please note that in the Muslim calender, a holiday begins on the sunset of the previous day, so Muslims will celebrate Ramadan on the sunset of Sunday, the 31st of August. And that will make a nice Ramadan calendar. I'll upload it whenever I can create one of find one on the Web.

In the meantime, check out more information about Ramadan on Wikipedia and here are a couple of videos that I like about Ramadan :

DAFEH

DAFEH LAANAT TARI SHAKAL APAR KUTHA BARA

So obviously you don't like

So obviously you don't like Islam religion. I hope that it's not to praise another religion, because in my opinion they're all for "fucking lunar lunatic cunts".

But I am mentionning Ramadan because it is quite a nice peak in Web traffic, when it happens. At least it did last year for me in french, so I want to try it in english this year. There are still over 2 weeks before the month of ramadan begins, so I'll see, but on the french side it's already working well at the moment...

If you want a tip, at the

If you want a tip, at the very beginning of september, the month of ramadan begins for muslims. It is very much searched for because Islam's calendar is based on moon observation and is not 100% predictable, especially since it is based on eye observation and vary one day depending on the location.
And on top of that every year (our sun based years) the month of ramadan starts about 2 weeks earlier.
Stupid if you ask me, but the result is LOTS of searches about DATE OF RAMADAN XXXX, ramadan XXXX calendar, and so on.

On adsense there are several ads about islam and especially one campaign which pays quite good about single muslims, a dating site based on ethnics/cultural. So very well targeted for this period.

To all who are

To all who are misleaded..
Pls if you cant talk good atleast dont talk bad about MY RELIGION.. its good that Allah has tot us to control our anger and to forgive the one who talks bad... SO I WONT SAY ANYTHING TO THOSE WHO ARE BLIND AND DEAF EVEN AFTER BEING BLESSED ... I PRAY FOR MERCY TOWARDS THEM... MAY ALLAH BLESS YOU PEOPLE & GET YOU ON THE PATH OF TRUTH... AMEEN

Please don't come to defend

Please don't come to defend your stupid beliefs here, because that's not the point of this page. This page was simply created to test the waters in term of web traffic surge just before the start of Ramadan. And as a quick feedback to all readers, I can tell that it's working.
Now if you ask me about your religion I'll never have bad enough words in my english vocabulary to describe it accurately. And all religions in general are for dummies.

I think that the issue here

I think that the issue here is simply that the learning curve is steppier with drupal than joomla and that's it. Not only with drupal but also as you said with essential modules, because one thing is for sure: drupal is not enough on its own, there are a handful of essential modules to use and for that you need to know which ones and what they do and why they're needed for a new site.
